Your first electric car rental: what to check before driving

Renting an electric car for the first time and want to feel prepared before setting off? Arrange documents and payment, inspect the car and ask us to demonstrate driving controls and charging. Then check your route and return time.

Documents and payment before pickup

Bring a passport and valid driving licence. Drivers must be at least 20 with at least two years of driving experience. The manager may request additional documents in individual cases; agree on this before arrival.

Pay 100% of the full rental price before pickup. We accept cash, bank cards and bank transfers. Check whether your foreign card is accepted in advance. The deposit usually equals one day at the selected rate; we confirm the amount based on the car, driving experience and citizenship.

Read the rental terms and confirm the mileage limit, permitted travel area and battery level required at return. Do not send document photos through the website comment field; agree on how to provide them with the manager.

Inspecting the car at handover

Check the body, wheels, glass and cabin. Record damage, mileage and battery charge in the handover report together with the manager. Take photos of the car's condition and keep them until the rental is complete.

Check documents and included equipment. If a cable is included, ask which connections it works with and inspect it. Save the contact number for questions during your trip.

Settings and regenerative braking

Adjust the seat and mirrors, locate the controls and check the selected driving mode. Ask us to show the mode selector, parking brake and dashboard indicators. Set up your phone and navigation before moving off.

Regenerative braking returns some energy to the battery as the car slows down. Its effect depends on the car, mode and conditions, so ask what to expect when releasing the accelerator. Drive calmly for the first part of your trip and use the brake pedal as traffic conditions require.

Your first charging stop

Before departure, ask us to show the charging port, cable and how to start and end a session. Prepare the operator's app, sign-in and payment method. Choose stations that match the connector on the particular car.

Check a main station and a backup along your route. Weather, speed, load and heating affect energy consumption; listed range cannot guarantee the exact distance on your trip. Keep enough reserve to reach an alternative station.

The charging guide explains what to check before a session and what to do if it will not start. Contact the operator about the station and AnyCar about the car.

Returning the car without a rush

We work every day from 09:00 to 21:00, with regular car returns by 20:00. Allow time for charging, driving to the meeting point and inspection. Arrange handover outside working hours in advance and tell the manager if you will be late.

At return, check the car's condition and have both parties sign the report. The deposit is then returned, subject to deductions specified in the agreement. For early returns, we refund 50% of the rental price for the unused period.

Choose a car, compare the rate for your rental duration and include dates in your enquiry. For a first trip outside Minsk, start with the Mir and Nesvizh itinerary.
